Land Rover V6 3.0-litre Diesel Engine
This week our Land Rover Engine specialists have dived deep into the SDV6 3.0-litre diesel engine, bringing to you the need to know information on which of our Land Rover models have this engine, what to expect and how to take care of this engine.
The SDV6 3.0-litre diesel engine was bought out in 2018 along side the 4.4 SDV8 diesel. This engine can deliver 202kW and 625Nm, ups the output of the outgoing 3.0 litre TDV6 by 12kW and 25Nm.The engine has a pretty good fuel consumption of 7.7l/100km. The engine will go from 0km to 60km in 7 seconds flat – not bad for an SUV. It can also tow an impressive 3,500kg.
With the release of this engine, Land Rover also added some pretty exciting features to their driver assistance technology; The adaptive cruise control with a stop go function (which allows the driver to automatically keep a certain distance from the driver in front) and also a steering assist feature (which keeps the vehicle on track by using lane markings).
Land Rover also fitted all their new engines with particulate filters to further reduce emissions. Which has been an important step for all car manufactures. This filter are neatly integrated into the after treatment system and trap soot as the exhaust gas passes through them. This makes the engine even cleaner and more efficient.
At the time of this engines reveal, Nick Collins (The Vehicle Line Director at Jaguar Land Rover) stated “The latest updates strengthen Discovery’s status as the most versatile and capable family SUV. Our new diesel engine provides strong performance and efficiency while the latest safety technology protects occupants and other road users.”
